Post-Launch Guide

Shards of Order is now live on Steam PC following the July 28, 2026, 6 PM CET unlock. Fardust and Awaken Realms shipped the full dark fantasy card RPG with three permanent heroes, three regions, Fracture stack math, redraw timer 4, and combat queue sequencing — all reworked from demo feedback. This page is your week-one hub for routing, new wiki content, and mechanic reminders so launch habits do not carry hidden demo penalties.

If you installed at unlock, start with the Launch Day archive for install context, then use this guide for where to go next in the campaign.

Week-one reading order

  1. How to Play — confirm you are not treating this like a roguelite wipe loop.
  2. Redraw and Queue — unlearn demo cheap-card redraw habits.
  3. Laws and Fracture — 6/18 redraw damage per stack after revives.
  4. Ethereal Power — when to skip revive spam.
  5. Purged Village Walkthrough — first full-campaign hub after Shrike.
  6. Regions — macro map across three areas.
  7. Deck Calculator — re-test shared deck counts after new gear.

New wiki content for full release

We added pages that demo-only coverage missed:

Purged Village Walkthrough

Purged Village documents the Chapel hub, Miller versus Herbalist choice, Blacksmith and Margrave quest chains, Dangerous Roads arcs, and Morgain, Guardian of the Order — the boss gating the Law of Identity and east Village Gate.

Ethereal Power Guide

Ethereal Power explains full revive, party heal, and tarot card rewards versus standard Revive cards — critical once Fracture stacks punish redraws.

Updated launch archives

Launch Day and Release Date remain the historical unlock reference. Demo Changes still explains feedback-driven reworks if you skipped late-demo patches.

Campaign routing after the demo ends

Demo players who only cleared the single dungeon should expect:

Shrike’s Lair completion — defeat Shrike, The Judging Bird, collect Shrike’s Feathers, and exit through the eastern gate trigger.

Purged Village — arrive at the Chapel, pick up Crime and Punishment and Dangerous Roads quests, restore the Law of Identity, defeat Morgain, and open the east gate. Full steps: Purged Village Walkthrough.

Region two and three — macro structure on Regions; revisit nodes freely because progression persists.

Mechanic reminders that trip launch players

Not a roguelite — map progress and XP persist. Backtrack for gear instead of rerolling saves.

Shared deck — every card pick affects Soldier, Scholar, and Exile together. Use Builds and Card Tier List.

Respec from day one — the joint skill tree supports respec with on-screen guidance; experiment before hard gates.

Fracture discipline — each revive adds a stack; three stacks mean 18 damage per hero on every redraw. Pair Ethereal Power with Boss Guide prep.

Combat queue — queue sequences before animations finish; details in Redraw and Queue.

Demo versus owned copy

The demo remains useful for practicing countdown reading without spoiling later regions. Demo saves do not replace full-campaign progress — treat them as a training ground. Side-by-side comparison of rule changes: Demo Changes.

Community reception for the demo held near 95% positive across Steam user reviews pre-launch — full-game impressions will shift tier lists as more players reach Purged Village and beyond. Watch Updates hub for balance notes.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Shards of Order out now?

Yes. The full game launched on Steam PC on July 28, 2026 at 6 PM CET and remains available alongside the free demo.

What should I do after beating the demo?

Buy or continue the full game, finish Shrike's Lair if needed, then follow the Purged Village Walkthrough for the first campaign hub.

Where does the story go after Shrike's Lair?

You arrive at Purged Village Chapel, restore the Law of Identity, and defeat Morgain before the east Village Gate opens.

Are demo combat rules the same as launch?

No. Launch uses redraw timer 4, combat queue, Fracture stacks, and a three-hero roster — see Demo Changes and Redraw and Queue.

Is the demo still worth playing after launch?

Yes for practice, but demo saves do not replace full-campaign progress and demo rules differ from launch in key ways.

Will this page update with patches?

Yes. Post-Launch tracks week-one routing now and will summarize Steam balance notes as they arrive on the Updates hub.
