Pre-launch checklist (July 26–28)
- Wishlist the main app on Steam if you have not.
- Verify disk space — minimum 4 GB per official specs on Release Date.
- Update GPU drivers — DirectX 12 target; stable frame times help read countdowns.
- Replay demo optional fights with launch assumptions from Redraw and Queue — no cheap-card redraw spam.
- Bookmark Laws and Fracture and Demo Changes for mechanic diffs.
Install and first boot
When the game unlocks:
- Open Steam Library → Shards of Order → Install (or Update if you pre-loaded).
- Launch, set language to match your preference — English, French, German, Spanish, and more ship on Steam.
- Read tutorial beats carefully — joint skill tree UI shows all three heroes’ options together.
- Follow Getting Started for party intro: Soldier, Scholar, Exile.
Demo saves do not replace the full campaign; treat demo progress as mechanical practice only.
What changed from demo to launch
Fracture numbers locked in
Revive adds 1 Fracture stack. Each stack makes every redraw deal 6 damage to each of the three party members. Maximum 3 stacks = 18 damage per hero per redraw. Unused revive cards can clog the shared deck. Visual intensity ramps with stacks. Full rules: Laws and Fracture.
Redraw economy rework
Launch redraw timer starts at 4. Reduction ties to time actually spent — a cost-3 card reduces the timer by 3. Movement costs 1 time and reduces redraw by 1. Demo players who spammed cheap cards under old rules must relearn pacing on Redraw and Queue.
Combat queue
Queue card sequences before animations finish for faster flow than demo stop-and-start. Pair with Combat System countdown reading.
Roster and skill tree
Permanent party: Soldier, Scholar, Exile only — cut from five planned heroes. Warlock and Bladedancer remain in story and may be playable in limited moments, not permanent slots. New joint skill tree displays all three heroes’ upgrade paths together.
World scale
Three unique regions, handcrafted bosses, law restoration, gods mischief theme — see Regions for exploration overview.
